The Friends group provides volunteering opportunities to support local wildlife, connect the public with nature, and serve children’s environmental education needs. There are many ways for all to volunteer at the Refuges as an individual, with your fellow community members, or with your organization.
Individual/community volunteer opportunities:
- Looking to see what opportunities are coming up such as Community Volunteer Days, invasive species removal, and native plantings? Click here to see the Refuge’s event page for more information.
- Ready to sign up for an upcoming volunteer day or apply for a role? Click here to see our volunteer.gov openings.
- Staff our gift shop, Nature’s Nest, in the Visitor Center. Volunteering at Nature’s Nest gives you an opportunity to share your love and knowledge of nature while supporting a cause that matter. Please contact the Nature’s Nest Manager, Bri Spitz, at bspitz@ffrwr.org
- Want to chat more about volunteering and see what would be the best fit? Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Kim Lopez, at klopez@ffrwr.org.
